Flat Fee Attorneys

How Flat Fee Patent
Services Work

Unlike other law firms, our flat fee includes the writing of the application, drawings, and revisions, and we provide you with another up-front quote to handle arguments up to the first of either a final rejection or an allowance. Don’t be caught up in a typical law firm cycle of ballooning fees as the process goes forward (see the example below). We offer affordable patent protection to help you budget your legal fees in a cost-effective manner.

Experts in Our Field

We Have the Experience You Need to Protect Your Ideas

The professionals at Kaufhold & Dix Patent Law have secured over 6,000 utility and design patent allowances across a wide range of industries and art. From hand tools to biochemical agents, we have the knowledge to assist you in all of your needs.

Payment Plans

Flexible Payment Plans to Fit Your Budget and Lifestyle

We know that protecting your idea can be an expensive undertaking, but a steep up-front cost should not be the reason you lose your valuable intellectual property. For that reason, we offer a monthly payment process to allow you to divide the cost over several months.

Our Process

No need to worry about bills every time you hear from us. Everything is covered by the one flat fee – the client only pays the quoted flat fee and the fees charged by the USPTO. We let you forget about the bills so that you can focus on turning your idea into a success.

1.

Free Consultation

After a free consultation, Kaufhold & Dix will quote a single, flat fee for a patent application ranging from $4,000 to $9,500 based on its complexity, the majority of which fall in the $4,500 to $6,500 range.

2.

Up-Front Fee

The quoted Flat Fee for the application may be split in half with the remainder, payable over many months if you so choose, to cover the patent drawings and patent application writing to get you to the point of being patent pending.

3.

Remaining Fee

A single fee for rejection responses, typically equal to 25% of the application fee, is paid when we receive the first response from the USPTO (usually 12-24 months after filing). If that first response is an allowance and no response is required – awesome – there are no legal actions to perform, and you don’t pay this fee.

Typical patent law firms will charge more and will not provide you with the knowledge base you need to develop your idea into a marketable product. Come see why Kaufhold & Dix Patent Law is different.
